Style and Design
A special little wooden playhouse in a Scandinavian style from TP, Bramble Cottage is sure to delight all small children and provide hours of fun and fantasy play either indoors or out - or both! The cottage is perfectly suited to outdoor use by virtue of its pressure treated, hand painted finish but is compact enough to be moved inside or out. It features a pretty apex roof, all round window openings and a saloon type door open at the top.
In 1915 Bramble Cottage was winner of the inaugural Toy News Outdoor Playtime Award for Houses Tents and Hideaways. It's made exclusively for a well known department store but you can cut out the middle man and buy direct from the manufacturer above.
Materials/Construction
Bramble Cottage is completed in FSC certified pine.
Dimensions
The playhouse measures approximately 3'6'' x 3'6'' (106 x 106 cm). The door is 40 cm wide while the height is 3' (93 cm) at the eaves rising to 4'8'' (143 cm) at the ridge.

Bramble Cottage is pressure treated with hand painted detail prior to delivery avoiding the need to apply decoration/preservative prior to outdoor use. The playhouse will last many years, even if kept outside and the timber comes with a 5 year anti rot warranty.
Delivery/Assembly
The playhouse is delivered flat packed and will take two people around two hours to assemble. Take a look at the assembly instruction video here.
Our Verdict
We like this little playhouse with its pressure treated, hand painted finish and its flexibility for both indoor and outdoor use. It's ideal for children from about 18 months and we think it's a sure fire winner in this category. The Scandinavian styling is imaginative and if you're looking for something a little different as a first playhouse Bramble Cottage might be it - we think it's so much better than a plastic playhouse!
It's styled a little differently from its competitors in this size/price range - more interesting on the one hand, but more open to the elements on the other. The pressure treated wood should however ensure a long life for Bramble Cottage even if kept permanently outside. We're not quite so sure about the attractive hand painted finish though. As with all wooden buildings located outdoors you'll undoubtedly find yourself wanting to freshen this up after a while. There's no floor but the open nature of the design doesn't really allow for one. You could provide a floor yourself but we'd recommend leaving the playhouse unfloored for drainage purposes.
Assembly should be pretty straightforward although a power screwdriver wouldn't go wrong given the amount of screws involved. Putting the playhouse together may be a little tedious but there's nothing intimidating involved and you should be able to have it up and playworthy within two to three hours.
Unfortunately Bramble Cottage is no longer widely available but you might be able to pick one up from existing unsold stocks. We'd suggest you take a look at the Outsunny Kids, Lavender Cottage and TP Cubby playhouses as suitable alternatives - you'll probably find them cheaper too.
