Style and Design
This spacious and pretty two storey wooden playhouse has a number of attractive features to tempt you and to please and delight children. In all the playhouse features five large windows which ensure plenty of light gets in even on a dull day. One of the windows opens to allow for ventilation when the weather is hot. In addition there's a diamond peephole style window in the door, four window boxes to introduce youngsters to plant care, antique style metal door fittings, decorative fascias and mock shutters to the side windows.
Inside you'll find a ladder access to the second floor which provides the added attraction of an upper play area.
With plenty of room for growing children and an highly attractive exterior this two storey cottage is a definite asset to the garden as well as to family life.
The walls and floor of the Cottage are manufactured in smooth planed 12mm whitewood pine tongue and groove cladding on sturdy 35 x 35mm framing. The roof is 11mm solid sheet OSB finished in optional felt tiles for attractive weatherproofing. The door furniture is antique styled metal while the windows are glazed in styrene for safety.
The Cottage measures 6' (1.79m) x 8' (2.39m) with an internal height of 7'10'' (2.36m) at the ridge. The upper play area is 5'6'' (1.72m) x 2'8'' (0.82m).
The playhouse is pre-treated in a natural water based base coat prior to delivery. A final decorative/protective coat will require to be applied at the time of assembly and maintained regularly thereafter.
Options for the Two Storey Cottage include window boxes, pine cladding, installation and decoration services and felt roof tiles.
Unless an installation service is purchased the playhouse will be delivered flat packed for assembly by at least two persons.

The Shire Two Storey Cottage Playhouse is a well built wooden playhouse at a reasonable price which gives you a good amount of internal space and a number of attractive features. We like its general appearance (although that's always a matter of personal preference) and the tongue and groove floor which should aid durability. Assembly of the playhouse should be well within the abilities of the average amateur handyman - if you've any doubts on that score you can view the instructions here.
One thing we would say is that we find some of the options offered by some sellers a little confusing - though maybe that's just us of course! But if you do find that you're not sure of quite what's on offer or what the options mean we'd suggest you contact the supplier by either e-mail or their website contact form to get a clear written description before you order. Other than that we've nothing but good things to say about this one.
